Most popular used caravans and motorhomes for sale 2022

Buying a used caravan or motorhome - most popular makes and models 2022

With so many makes and models of pre-owned caravans and motorhomes available for sale, choosing the right one can be a tricky task.

To make the process a little easier, we’ve listed the most popular caravans and motorhomes for sale on our website in 2022. Whilst most popular doesn’t necessarily mean best, when it comes to caravans and motorhomes, it can be a good starting point.

1. Volkswagen T5.1 Campervan

The Volkswagen Transporter T5 (or VW T5 Campervan) is the fifth generation of the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles ‘Transporter’ series. Manufactured from 2010 – 2015, the T5.1 is much sleeker-looking than its predecessor with a more distinguished front end.

Thanks to the introduction of the T6 model the T5.1 is no-longer as expensive as it once was, so from a conversion point of view it’s an excellent option. Considerably easier to park than a large motorhome, these converted vans may not be as iconic as the classic VW campervan, but they offer power and efficiency along with the latest technology.

2. Bailey Approach 740 SE Motorhome

Based on the ever-popular Peugeot Boxer cab, the Bailey Approach SE is powered by the Peugeot 2.2 Hdi 130bhp engine, complete with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The lightweight AL-KO AMC chassis, with its lower centre of gravity, provides a balanced weight distribution for improved road holding and braking efficiency. Driver comfort is catered for with fully adjustable front swivel seats, cab air conditioning and cruise control included as standard.

And once you’re out on the road, you’ll find a light and spacious interior, thanks to the large clear canopy roof lights throughout. The Bailey Approach is extremely well specified, with a large capacity fridge, ‘anti-rattle’ oven and stainless-steel microwave as standard. The 740 model also boasts front and rear double beds. Storage is also good in this motorhome with a decent sized wardrobe, plenty of roof lockers and under bed lockers.

The Bailey Approach 740 SE motorhome is a well specified 4-berth with the benefit of Alu-Tech construction.

3. Autocruise Starspirit Motorhome

Another motorhome based on the Peugeot Boxer Hdi, the Autocruise Starspirit is a spacious yet practical option. Possessing a powerful yet economical 2.2 litre engine that delivers impressive power and good fuel economy, and with a gross weight of 3,500kg, the Starspirit can be driven by anyone with a valid UK driving license - making it a perfect ‘starter’ motorhome.

Probably, the stand out feature of the Autocruise Starspirit is its desirable rear U shape lounge with triple aspect windows and a large skylight, providing plenty of natural light and fantastic views.

The mid-kitchen comes with everything you might need to conjure up a lovely meal including an oven and grill, dual-fuel hob, fridge/freezer, sink with mixer tap and microwave as standard. The washroom is also very well equipped with a showerhead built into the tap, a wash basin with mixer tap and a cassette toilet.
